Once you begin to treat your body the way it deserves to be treated you will begin to see its transformation.
Start by respecting and caring for yourself from the inside out. Appreciating yourself as you already are, is fundamental to learning how to love your body in ten easy steps.
Just because society says this is the way you should feel, or that is the way something should be done doesn’t mean that it’s right for you. Take a stance; plant your feet firmly into your beliefs. Oftentimes, there is no right or wrong way, so why not try it your way?
Begin by recognizing your worth and limitless potential. While we all easily embrace our strengths, it’s harder to accept our weaknesses. Be gentle with yourself and know that you are enough. Standing proudly, accepting where you are in your journey can be a challenge; please remember that your life is always going to be a work in progress.
It’s easy to get so wrapped up in your own head that you forget how much of a blessing you are to others. When you're kind, you demonstrate to those around you that they mean something to you. Research reveals that simple acts of kindness like holding the door open for someone, donating to charity or buying lunch for a friend leads to a significant increase in a person’s positive mood.
Share your spirit and love of life with the people you come in contact with. You never know how your words, actions, and deeds can change the life of those you come in contact with change the life of those you come in contact with. Make a difference by putting yourself out there—your unique attitude can be contagious and has the ability to positively impact someone’s day.
Declare your personal style; wear what makes you feel confident and use your clothes as a tool for self-empowerment. Get your butt out there and buy that dress, wear that hairstyle, and go for that makeover! Quit watching life pass you by!
Resist comparing yourself to the online images and lifestyles of others. The glitz and glamour of the relentless stream of social media can make the pressure for self-improvement exhausting. While it’s human nature to want the approval and acceptance of others, it’s time to let go of the charade! Don’t allow the exaggerated online lives of others define and limit you.
Have you wanted to go skydiving? Hike the Grand Canyon? Stroll through the streets of Paris? What exactly is it that you are waiting for? Don’t let the fear of the unknown make you small and scared. You can’t wait until you’re ready because with a less than confident mindset you may never be.
Throughout your life you may need to let go of people and things that have become comfortable and familiar. While you are on your journey not everyone will have your best interests in mind and you may need to move on. That said, some people won’t be happy or even understand but it will be necessary in order for you to move forward.
You must never let the things you want in life lessen the awareness of the things you already have. When you are on your journey to a new life it’s important to take the time to be grateful for what you have, who you are, and where this unknown path is taking you. Be great by first being grateful.
The problem isn’t your body, it’s what you think of it. Become your own kind of beautiful and love the person you already are. If you believe in yourself and are secure enough, the rest will follow.
Treating yourself with love and respect can be difficult when you’re busy being your own worst enemy. Give yourself permission to accept the same compassion that you offer to others—you are worthy and deserving of it.
