It guides you to take time to become aware of your surrounding environment and pay attention to your inner experiences.
You should have a deep and connected appreciation of where you are and what you are doing. Self-awareness and positive expectations are two of the best reasons why you should routinely practice mindfulness.
#2 Feed your body like it belongs to someone you love. Every cell in your body is made from what you eat and drink; your goal should be to form and institute a sound dietary routine. Maintaining a well-balanced diet will not only change your body, it will change your mind, your attitude and your mood.
Serotonin is the chemical that makes us happy, with ninety percent of it being produced by your gut. Therefore, poor diets may encourage negative, depressive feelings, lowering your self-confidence. When you are eating healthy and nutritious food, you automatically increase your mood toward all things — including yourself.
#3 Like food is to the body, self-talk is to the mind. Don’t let junk thoughts echo in your head; stop focusing on what could go wrong and focus on what could go right. With practice your self-talk will contain less self-criticism and more self-acceptance; if your compassion doesn’t include yourself it is incomplete.
The greater part of your happiness or heartache will depend solely on your attitude, not on your situation. What you focus on will become your reality; you must put positive thinking into practice.
#4 The next time you are thinking of beautiful things, don’t forget to count yourself among them. Learning how to love your body the way it is will be the first step to transformation.
Create a new relationship with your body by letting go of unrealistic expectations perpetuated by electronic and print media. Stop staring in the mirror seeing only flaws and failures; picking your looks and life apart. Slam the door and nail it shut on your negative frame of mind.

#7 Focus on what makes you feel good. Don’t wait until something happens in your life that suddenly alters the way you see yourself in relationship to your future. At any given moment you have the power to change your life and say, “This is not how my story is going to end.”
